The gig economy is a nuisance and municipalities won't deal with it. Airbnb has taken away housing stock and driven up rents - people still use them. Uber and Lyft have destroyed the taxi business in lots of places. People still use them. Scooters and eBikes are a scourge to pedestrians. Cities won't do a thing because they are popular.
