If you had said that to a WWII vet he or she would have looked at you in disbelief. They would have done the same if you used the term "warrior". They never conceived of the idea that they were warriors. They were just ordinary Americans that rose up out of the depression to save the world from tyranny. Then they went home to become the great American Middle Class.

We are Americans. We are free. We do not have a warrior class.
