Anyhow, weather in the west sometimes doesn't make it to the midwest at all - systems often break up when they hit the mountains. How fast weather systems arrive depends on factors like upper-level winds and is highly variable. Here are the current national weather and forecast maps. https://www.weather.gov/forecastmaps/.
