CASPER, Wyo. Statewide public broadcaster Wyoming PBS is planning a rebrand to better reflect its mission as Wyomings own public television station and storyteller. The principal change will be the organizations name, from which it plans to drop the PBS branding.
The stations new name has yet to be determined, according to a press release. All that is certain is that PBS will be leaving, which the broadcaster said will better reflect the stations efforts to reflect a uniquely Wyoming-based mission. This marks a significant step in ongoing efforts to strengthen local content, deepen community connections and explore new opportunities for public media in Wyoming, it said.
Wyoming PBS CEO Joanna Kail added in the announcement that this rebrand serves a declaration of independence and not a departure from quality.
The station still plans to host all national PBS content, just without the baggage of the national branding. ... We are Wyomings storyteller first and a member station second, Kail said. Our loyalty belongs to the 307.
