1. Delta is very good at keeping unions out.

The only unions on the property are the pilots, and I think the meteorologists. The flight attendants vote every few years, but so far have not managed to get a successful outcome.

One of the main ways Delta keeps unions out is by matching pay and some benefits to what non-Delta, unionized jobs get. Of course, those pay rates can then be pulled away at any time by the company because there is no actual contract. Same thing with the benefits.

Delta also likes to be able to fire people with no process or protection. They don’t emphasize that, but they do it regularly, often to people who are too vocally pro union.
