2. I don't think most people have a grasp of just how fragile this supply chain is.

It's not like you can drop one of the central players, and replace them next week. There are SEVERAL points along the path from design to installation in an end product that are completely irreplaceable in any time frame under half a decade, at least....and billions of dollars. Metaphorically, it's a giant, planet-busting game of Jenga.

For a country whose military (among virtually every other endeavour you can name) is so reliant on tech, the US had best tread carefully here.
