There were a couple of times I thought, uh oh, the evil Moriarty is showing. When he asks how the woman felt when she killed someone, and he says that he didn't feel anything. Sounds like a psychopath/sociopath? I would expect a second season would have something happen to cause a break in the friendship. I think having them start out as friends makes their later enmity sadder, to think what was lost. And it could be why Moriarty would have insight to how Sherlock thinks, them having worked closely together in the past.
