I had the best early morning.

I woke at 5 and saw that Carys was the lone kidcat on the bed. She hasn't slept on the bed in AGES.

When she saw I was awake she slowly ambled up to the head of the bed and I reached out to give her a scritch. Instead of darting off, she came closer for more. Then the purring started and she started rubbing her head against my hand and arm. Pretty soon she was stretched out on top of me, purring, giving me slow blinks and accepting all scritches, and even a kiss!

This went on for a good 5 minutes. Then she noticed that I'd left the lap top on with the Djuma Dam live stream running. There were wart hogs at the water so she perched herself in front of the screen, fascinated by what she was watching.

I got in a few more scritches before she decided to move on.

Honestly, this is the first time in longer than I can remember that she's been affectionate and accepting of scritches, kisses and pets. I've been giving her some 'calming' treats at night so maybe something is building up in her system.

She's off on her own, again, but I'm hopeful for a repeat performance.
