Here's the medical update on Ember [View all]

She is definitely undersized and a little underweight. That doesn't surprise me. She has a good appetite but until I brought her inside, she had to compete with the other kittens for food. Well, unless I was out there to make sure she got her fill.

She also has a slight heart murmur. As for her eye, one cornea has a scratch. Hopefully that will resolve. BUT her overall prognosis is good.

So, I'm glad I brought her in when I did and wish I had done so even sooner. Shortly after I brought her in, I could already see a change in her weight and her energy/activity level, which really increased. I can't beat myself up about the timing. She is safe and sound and will only get stronger, from this point on.

This might explain why I lost Tudor. He was even smaller than Ember and maybe also had a heart murmur.

I'll talk with her mom again, tomorrow.
