You’re lucky that you had your cat for such a long time, 18 is pretty old for a cat to live. That being said sorry for your pain, pets can easily be like our children we love and take care of them and nothing can replace them. Hope all goes well, if not you have given your pet a good home, it won’t forget you and more often than not when they pass they come back to visit. Usually in the first two weeks. Our 2 cats both did.
