1. My mom grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.She would've been 15 when this happened

Once, I think it was back in the 80s, I went with her on a walk on Silver Beach. On the Chesapeake side. She pointed out all the development that was there before the storm, including a pier with amusements. Also a dance hall and other beach town establishments. It had all been wiped out and never been replaced. Nobody wanted to risk that happening again.
