Aside from all that, I had been led to believe that a major tenet of conservatism is allowing private entities to exercise freedom and liberty as guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution. Minimizing excessive government oversight and regulation is a key element of this principle. Guess my earlier interpretation of this is wrong, as big government interference is indeed OK!?
