2. I just read an excellent book about modern Ireland.

It's called 'We Don't Know Ourselves" by Fintan O'Toole.

I also just re-read "Cat's Cradle" (Vonnegut) yesterday. Lots of humor in both books, which I appreciate, even when the subject matter is more ambiguous.
