About 10 years ago there was a local news story about a young man, around 20 years old, who got drunk at a party.
As he was leaving a young woman asked him to give her a ride home.

He crashed the car a few blocks away, killing her and her unborn child.
He was either found guilty or pled guilty for vehicular homicide and sent to prison.

Some months later, wanting a cheap haircut, I went to a local barber school.
The young guy who cut my hair turned out to be this guy’s brother.

He told me he had visited his brother at the prison over the weekend,
and his brother told him he was being raped everyday.
