3. cases like this provide bad governments cover for all kinds of abuse.

i oppose giving government the right to kill its subjects.

bad governments are always able to find some heinous case or two to make killing its subjects look like a reasonable thing to do.

then they quietly use that same power either deliberately in evil or negligently in evil.


how is it that so many people have been executed or are on death row and later proven to be nowhere near the scene of the crime?
how is it that so many of them are people of color?
how is it that so many of them are poor?

how many political executions have there been the world over?

oh it can't happen here, but look who heads up our government at the moment....


yes, of course, the crime described is horrific. if found guilty after a fair trial, lock 'em up and throw away the key.
how is that considered somehow inadequate?

"if killing anybody's such a terrible crime / why does this blood-thirsty chorus come round from time to time / let him dangle"
