The two girls from the mall... Was that Eagle Rock by any chance? IIRC, a woman witnessed that abduction and tried to flag down police, but they initially didn't take it seriously, perhaps because it wasn't clear whether they got into the vehicle on their own or were coerced. But later her testimony was valuable in identifying the perpetrators' vehicle. (I hope I have that right, but that is my recollection.)

My ex GF and I were very close with a woman who was friends with Hillside Strangler victim Kristina Weckler.
