Giants appear ready to throw in the towel on 2026: open to trade offers on top veterans ... [View all]

according to "sources."

From mlb.com

A source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand that San Francisco is open to offers for first baseman Rafael Devers, shortstop Willy Adames and third baseman Matt Chapman, though the club has no plans to move ace Logan Webb or any of its young players. The club has not confirmed the news.

The Athletic first reported Monday that the Giants "have not fully committed to becoming sellers" but had begun gauging the market for some of their players. A report from ESPN's Buster Olney later on Monday specifically named Devers, Adames and Chapman as players the club is willing to move.

The Giants still have time to get back in the race, but they are facing a steep climb and haven’t shown enough to suggest they are close to making a run. San Francisco entered Tuesday with the second-worst record (29-43) in the National League behind the Rockies.

With Webb not expected to be available, the Giants' most in-demand trade chip this summer is likely to be second baseman Luis Arraez, given his strong season, reasonable salary and modest prospect cost as a pending free agent.
