On a clear day, distant photos are great.

I take few star photos because being on a ridge, the thermals from the surrounding ravines, create lots of turbulence. Stars up to 30 degrees from the horizon or so (so who's measuring?) dance most of the time. A lot.

Seriously look like UFO's or whatever they are called these days.

Overhead is OK.
