Though I've only had a few of those... They also send you emails (most of the time) when new Shift codes are released. The codes so far have been either for Golden Keys or for new skins/heads. All together, over the last month or so, I've gotten three emails for 'special offers' to buy other products and two emails for Shift codes. I find it is just as good to just keep an eye on their twitter accounts to see them released so I've made it one of my regular morning stops for now. The main twitter account that I follow is here:

The Shift codes work regardless if you join or not, it just makes it hard to miss when they are released (and some are time sensative since they expire).
