(15,918 posts)(I dont really like -ist. Its why though I am a feminist, I dont like that label. Especially after Beyonce and girlbossing started on it. Now I have reclaimed it since its popularity is at a historic low.
No label that is used by far too many people and many of them very vocal is ideal imo. What is an anti-stupidist and anti-self serving-ist and anti-regressive-assholist etc? Not a thing? Oh well..)
I am godless because it just seems very unlike. It has always been a quick practical matter for me rather than a philosophical debate.
I have never felt lonely in the sense of wanting human company. But I have felt lonely (other lonely greens aside) in feeling no one shares ones worldview much beyond very common stuff. And that did make me briefly consider with distaste the possibility of a higher intelligence to make sense of realitys brutality etc.
And I came to the conclusion that no. Thats lame and thats whats causing all this. No notion of a conscience or right and wrong without human or a higher powers eyes judging.
That cant possibly be right. Its too child-like.
I agree with the absurdists-the universe is cold and indifferent and you make your own meaning, but there are never any easy answers.
Something humans seem to have a huge issue with. Thats not depression. Its the absence of some kind of ghastly enthusiasm that is terrifying. I mean its all bleak and horrible, but one has to carry on ;-/. And the things we had that seemed to signs of human progress and hope are all under attack these days.
