Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national, arrived in the U.S. in September 2021 as part of "Operation Allies Welcome," a program initiated by the Biden administration following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

He applied for asylum in 2024 and his application was officially approved, granting him asylum in April 2025, WHICH OCCURRED UNDER THE TRUMP ADMINSTRATION.
